Career as a Hair Braider

What does a Hair Braider do?

A hair braider specializes in creating braided hairstyles using natural hair or extensions, such as box braids, cornrows, twists, and locs. They consult with clients to choose styles and maintain hair health. Many hair braiders also manage their own clients, schedules, and hair care services as part of their business. Hair braiding involves intricately twisting, pulling, shaping, and braiding hair.

Health & Hygiene

Personal hygiene focuses on taking care of your body by keeping it clean, which helps reduce the spread of germs. Grooming involves caring for your hair and nails through everyday activities such as styling hair, shaving, trimming nails, and applying nail polish. Maintaining good hygiene and grooming habits helps individuals feel confident and supports both emotional and physical well-being.

Safety and Sanitation

Sanitation means keeping yourself and your work area clean by removing dirt you can see. When you practice good sanitation, you help reduce germs and protect yourself and others from getting sick. Simple sanitation habits include washing your hands with soap and water or using hand sanitizer before and after services.
